Decorating
Ideas!
The following
was generously contributed by Michelle Ballard. Michelle is a professional
Interior Designer and currently makes her home in Halandri, Greece
with her husband and young daughter.
Artwork
Frame kid's "artwork" and hang it on the
walls. Why buy pricy artwork, when a potential Picasso is living
in your own home?
For kids' rooms, hang diplomas on the
walls with cheap and cheerful colourful frames.
Use inexpensive
shadow box frames to frame any of the below: a.. keys
b.. matchboxes c.. shells d.. buttons e..
old buckles f.. old computer components g..
dried flowers h.. sea crystal
Hung on a wall as a collection, these can make
quite an impact!
I can't stress how much I miss the
great American garage - yard - tag sales for the funky lamp, desk or
bed. Most of the time they have junk, but how many times did I wish
I lived in the States when I ran across a great piece of furniture
at one!!!!
Ikea is also a great resource for inexpensive
solutions for decorating. Mercifully they have opened one here
about 15 minutes from my house! A frugal
decorator's delight!
